Westlake’s Circle T data center hearing set for Oct. 23
A court hearing is scheduled to determine whether Keller residents can continue their lawsuit seeking to block Westlake from voting on a development agreement for a proposed 1.1 million-square-foot Circle T data center. The project faces opposition over potential noise, water and electricity use, property values and proximity to neighborhoods, while a judge has dissolved the temporary restraining order that previously barred Westlake from voting.
A hearing before the 342nd Judicial District Court is scheduled for Oct. 23 in a lawsuit challenging the proposed Circle T data center near the Westlake-Keller border. Judge Kimberly Fitzpatrick dissolved a temporary restraining order that had prevented the Town of Westlake from voting on a development agreement for the 1.1 million-square-foot project planned on about 88 acres.
The Lakes at Marshall Ridge Homeowners Association filed the lawsuit, and the City of Keller later intervened. Nearby residents oppose the development because of concerns about noise, water and electricity consumption, property values and the facility’s proximity to residential neighborhoods. Westlake says the development agreement would establish infrastructure, architecture and landscaping requirements but would not by itself authorize construction, which would require additional approvals.
