Engineers from Wendel Companies updated the Alabama Planning Board on proposed conditions for the $19.46 billion STREAM U.S. Data Centers project in Genesee County, New York. The draft document, a product of collaboration between Wendel and the town, outlines requirements for noise, traffic, grading, stormwater, utilities, safety, and a "heat island" effect memorandum.

Planning Board Chairman Carl Kumpf stated there is no deadline for a decision on the site plan, emphasizing the need for comprehensive information from the applicant and consultants. Rob Klavoon and Nina Ballou of Wendel Companies presented the draft conditions, which include annual noise readings, compliance with state environmental permits, and a traffic management agreement for construction.

Public opposition was evident, with demonstrators gathering outside the Alabama Town Hall before the meeting. The board also discussed the project's sound study, submitted by STREAM and under review by consultants, and traffic impact data. STREAM Design Manager Colm Curran addressed concerns about a "heat island" effect, asserting the site's design with limited paving and reflective roofs would prevent it. The next Planning Board meeting is scheduled for June 15.
