She referenced a Bloomberg analysis that identified degraded power quality due to harmonic distortion within a 20 to 50-mile radius of these clusters, resulting in electrical pollution inside homes.
Scarato criticized the current federal safeguards for EMF, arguing they are insufficient as they only address immediate nerve stimulation and neglect long-term health risks such as oxidative stress and neurological issues. She drew parallels between the industry's approach to EMF safety and historical corporate tactics concerning tobacco and asbestos.
Given the rapid expansion of data centers and the associated electrical pollution and environmental impacts, Scarato called for enhanced transparency and comprehensive mitigation strategies.
