Arvada city leaders are scheduled to consider an 18-month moratorium on new data centers at a public meeting. Brighton officials are also considering a six-month pause, with the proposal set for an initial reading at a City Council meeting.

The Brighton proposal follows weeks of opposition to a planned large data center complex near County Roads 4 and 31 and nearby homes. Residents say the project could consume significant amounts of water and create excessive noise, while officials have not yet reached a final decision on either moratorium.
