Hutto technology growth continues with $250M Colovore data center
Colovore, an AI data center developer, has filed plans for a $250 million, 200,000-square-foot data center in Hutto, Texas. The facility will have a 40-megawatt capacity and use liquid-based cooling, with construction expected to begin in December 2026 and completion by the end of 2028. This project adds to Hutto's growing technology corridor, which has attracted other major developments.
Colovore, a California-based artificial intelligence data center developer, is planning a $250 million facility in Hutto, a rapidly growing suburb northeast of Austin, Texas. The company has filed plans with the state for the nearly 200,000-square-foot data center, with construction slated to begin in December 2026 and an anticipated completion by the end of 2028.
The Hutto data center will feature a 40-megawatt capacity, capable of powering approximately 8,000 Texas homes during peak demand, and will utilize liquid-based cooling. This development is part of the Hutto Crossing development, which is also a potential site for a new Blue Origin manufacturing facility. Both Hutto and Williamson County have approved tax incentives to attract Blue Origin, which is considering the Austin area and Florida for its advanced manufacturing hub.
Williamson County continues to attract significant industrial developments as available land in Austin diminishes. The Hutto Megasite, a 1,400-acre development near Samsung Electronics' chip factory in Taylor, is also taking shape and will host several large operational data centers and technology manufacturing projects. A data center supplier recently opened a manufacturing plant in Hutto, creating 200 to 300 new jobs.
