The Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee has voted to take control of a parcel of land previously proposed for a data center site adjacent to the Nashville Zoo. According to the mayor's office, the city plans to utilize this property for future government offices. This decision, if it receives final approval from the full council, would prevent the data center project from moving forward.
The vote resulted in 27 members supporting the measure and three opposing it, including council member Joyce Styles. The bill now requires one additional affirmative vote from the council for its final approval and enactment.
