Developers Crow Holdings and CHI Acquisitions have withdrawn their appeal for a proposed 300,000-square-foot data center on Highway 85 in Fayetteville, Georgia, effectively halting the project. The withdrawal came after the Fayetteville Planning & Zoning Commission denied the initial site plan. The item is expected to be removed from the city council's upcoming agenda.

Gov: City of Fayetteville, Fayetteville Planning & Zoning Commission, city council
Fayetteville, Ga. — A proposed 300,000-square-foot data center project located on Highway 85 in Fayetteville has been officially halted after developers Crow Holdings Development and CHI/Acquisitions, LP, withdrew their appeal. The companies submitted the withdrawal on March 18, 2026.
This action follows a decision made earlier this year by the Fayetteville Planning & Zoning Commission on January 27, which denied the initial site plan for the data center. The development was slated for an area north of the Fayette Pavilion shopping center, bordered by Highway 85, Roberts Road, and W. Fayetteville Road. Following the denial, the developers had filed an appeal, with a hearing scheduled before the full city council for Thursday.
The City of Fayetteville announced the withdrawal via its Facebook page on Wednesday, indicating that the item will now be removed from Thursday's city council agenda. It remains unclear whether the developers intend to seek an alternative location for the data center or if they plan to sell the property.
