Data Center Developer Announces $1.4B Investment For Liberty Data Center Campus

The Missouri Department of Economic Development has announced that data center developer Metrobloks plans a $1.4 billion investment in a new data center campus in Liberty, Missouri. This project represents one of the largest capital investments ever made in the state. The campus will encompass nearly 569,000 square feet across three buildings and is expected to create at least 30 permanent jobs with an annual wage of $95,649, in addition to hundreds of construction jobs for the Liberty area. Metrobloks highlights its facility's design for very low water usage and minimal impact on local municipal resources, schools, and emergency services. The company intends to leverage Kansas City's central location, robust fiber network, and cost-effective power to support digital demand. Metrobloks plans to utilize the state's Data Center Sales Tax Exemption Program, which offers sales tax exemptions on construction materials, utilities, machinery, and equipment for new or expanding data centers.
