Calaveras Supervisors To Hold Labor Negotiations, Vote On Data Center Moratorium

The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to hold its final August meeting, during which a significant vote on a 45-day moratorium for AI data center construction will take place. This urgency ordinance was directed by the board in a unanimous 5-0 vote at their previous meeting, signaling a strong intent to temporarily halt such developments.
The meeting, set for Tuesday, will commence with a closed session dedicated to labor negotiations with several county employee associations, including the Calaveras County Public Safety Employees Association (CCPSEA), Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (DSA), Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1021, and Sheriff’s Management Unit (SMU). Following these discussions, the regular session will include a vote to proclaim August as Child Support Awareness Month, alongside other agenda items concerning Tullock Reservoir and the Recorder’s Office.
