$1 billion data center proposed for the Kingston area
Paperwork has been filed with the State of Georgia for a proposed $1 billion, 350,000-square-foot data center called the Kingston Technology Hub in Bartow County. Developed by Thor Acquisition, the project on 559 acres is estimated to generate $2 million in taxes and create 50 full-time jobs. It is projected to use 50,000 gallons of water and 150 Megawatts of electricity daily, with a completion date set for 2030.
Thor Acquisition, a New York-based developer, has filed paperwork with the State of Georgia for a proposed 350,000-square-foot data center, dubbed the Kingston Technology Hub.
The project, estimated to be worth $1 billion upon completion in 2030, would be situated on 559 acres in the Kingston area of Bartow County. It is expected to generate approximately $2 million in taxes annually and provide 50 full-time jobs.
The facility's daily operations are projected to require 50,000 gallons of water, necessitating the installation of about 3 miles of additional water service line. Electricity demands are estimated at 150 Megawatts per day, with plans to secure energy supply through MEAG Power's Request for Proposals, including on-site substation infrastructure. The Development of Regional Impact filing was submitted to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
