Kevin O'Leary, a well-known investor and television personality, dismissed claims made by Utah State University physics professor Robert Davies regarding the proposed Box Elder AI data center. Davies, in an interview with NBC, asserted that the data center would have a physical footprint equivalent to 2,000 Walmart Supercenters and an energy footprint comparable to 40,000 Walmart Supercenters in the valley.

O'Leary vehemently refuted these figures, labeling them "complete BS" and "100% lies." He argued that Davies' statements were baseless because the developers, whom O'Leary represents with the pronoun "we," have not yet even submitted the official land permit proposal. Consequently, O'Leary stated, Davies could not possibly know the actual square footage or energy requirements of the planned facility. O'Leary concluded that the professor's claims were "full of poo-poo."
