
Community forum to examine how a data center would impact Hale and Marengo counties
Residents of Hale and Marengo counties, Alabama, are invited to a free public forum in Gallion on July 30 to discuss the potential impacts of a proposed data center. The event will feature experts on environmental law, land-use planning, water resources, and technology infrastructure. This follows a previous forum in Demopolis that attracted approximately 100 residents.
Residents in Alabama's Hale and Marengo counties are invited to a public forum in Gallion on July 30 to learn about the potential environmental and infrastructure impacts of a proposed data center. The event, held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Wallace Community College, will feature subject-matter experts.
Speakers will include environmental attorney Gerald Pouncey Jr., Georgia Conservancy President Katherine Moore, water quality expert Danny Johnson, and infrastructure specialist Jeff Berry. The forum, facilitated by conservation attorney Katherine Eddins, will also provide an opportunity for audience questions. This community discussion follows a similar forum in Demopolis held in April, which drew approximately 100 residents.
