During a special legislative session in North Dakota, the state House of Representatives voted down a bill that would have enacted data center moratoriums. The proposal failed with a vote of 68-25. This was one of two significant bill drafts that did not pass during the session, with the other being a potential funding initiative for a state childcare assistance program, which lost 71-21.
The three-day special session, which began on Wednesday, is also considering legislation to ban kratom and restart funding for the construction of the Military Gallery Museum in Bismarck. Two kratom-related bills have advanced and are expected to be voted on soon.
