Vantage Data Centers, the developer of the proposed Trident data center in Aurora, asked the city to pause consideration of a data center moratorium and new regulations for 90 days. The company says it wants time to conduct due diligence on potentially relocating the facility to sites farther from residentially zoned properties.

The request comes as the project faces substantial opposition from nearby residents. Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman and the City Council are scheduled to discuss the proposed moratorium and residential buffer, although the meeting was previously postponed after Coffman indicated he may not have enough votes to pass the moratorium.
