Officials in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, are preparing for a rescheduled vote on a controversial data center proposal in Middlesex Township. The "Packs One project" has faced significant public opposition, with residents consistently packing township meetings to voice their concerns.
The initial vote, originally set for August 5th, was pushed to the 19th and moved to a larger venue, the Middlesex elementary gym. However, that meeting was also standing room only and ended abruptly when Township solicitor Keith Brennaman fell ill. A subsequent board meeting held on a Friday morning to discuss unrelated issues also saw a large turnout from residents, who promised to attend every meeting to maintain pressure on officials.
The upcoming potential vote on the Packs One project has been moved to an even larger venue: the Cumberland Valley High School's Performing Arts Center, scheduled for Wednesday.
