According to Patrick Kelly, identified as a CEO in Saint Lawrence County, not all proposed projects are guaranteed to proceed, but the potential for a data center boom is evident.

One particular project is significantly further along in the planning process. This proposal involves constructing a three-structure data center facility, totaling approximately 1.5 million square feet. This large-scale development would be located next to the former Alcoa East plant and is estimated to require a substantial 635 megawatts (MW) of power to operate. Project developers have indicated on their website that this facility is an expansion of existing operations in Massena.
