PBA Holdings is formally challenging Palm Beach County's decision to reject its Project Tango data center application. The developer claims county leaders previously supported the development and then used criteria not part of existing zoning rules to deny the project last month. PBA Holdings argues the county had encouraged a large-scale data center in the proposed Western Palm Beach County location for years, with prior approvals allowing significant data center space.

The company has filed a formal "Request for Relief" under Florida's Land Use and Environmental Dispute Resolution Act. PBA Holdings asserts that the county's rejection could result in hundreds of millions of dollars in losses, including an eight-figure investment by the company and a nine-figure reduction in property value. The company is requesting the county to forward the dispute to a mutually agreed-upon special magistrate to facilitate the approval of the Project Tango application.

Project Manager Ernie Cox stated that PBA Holdings "remains committed to helping meet the region’s growing needs" and is evaluating its options. County officials either declined to comment or were unavailable for immediate response.
