Indy Economic Development, Inc. will hold a community meeting Oct. 7 at Frederick Douglass Park to update Martindale Brightwood residents on the Metrobloks data center planned near 25th Street and Sherman Drive. The meeting will cover the project’s tax incentive package and potential community benefits.

Indianapolis officials approved the data center project in April. Indy Economic Development negotiated nearly $56 million in property and equipment tax breaks for Metrobloks, while a potential tenant could receive up to $339 million in savings on new equipment. The Metropolitan Development Commission is expected to conduct a public hearing and vote on the abatements Oct. 21 at the City-County Building.
