The Henderson City Council in North Carolina is scheduled to consider a six-month moratorium on accepting, processing and approving data center development in the city and its extraterritorial jurisdiction. A public hearing will be held during the council’s Nov. 9 meeting to receive comments on the proposal.

The agenda materials say the pause would give officials time to ensure future growth is consistent with development regulations and community priorities. City Clerk Tracey Kimbrell said residents must attend in person or submit comments to the clerk by 3 p.m. on the meeting date.
