The proposal for this ban was brought forward by Hancock County Supervisor Sis Greiman. The decision not to proceed with the ban was made after a public hearing.
During a zoning public hearing held on Wednesday, September 9, rural Garner resident Pat Hall expressed concerns and spoke against the possibility of a data center coming to Hancock County. Despite local opposition voiced at the hearing, the county ultimately rejected the proposed temporary halt on data center applications.
