Van Wert announces $10 billion QTS data center campus investment
The City of Van Wert has announced a $10 billion data center campus project with QTS Data Centers. The development is expected to generate significant tax revenue and create new jobs. The City of Van Wert, Ohio, has finalized an agreement with QTS Data Centers to establish a large-scale data center campus on the city's east side. This project represents an estimated $10 billion in capital investment for the area.
Officials anticipate the development will generate approximately $200 million in tax revenue over the next two decades and create around 200 full-time employment opportunities. QTS Data Centers has committed to fully funding the necessary energy infrastructure improvements, ensuring no impact on existing electric customers.
The data center will utilize an advanced closed-loop cooling system, designed for continuous water reuse after the initial fill, minimizing water consumption. A public informational event is scheduled for June 11th at the Vantage Career Center to provide more details about the project.
