Kalea Gunderson reported on a community meeting in Springdale Borough where residents met with the developer of a proposed data center. The project, named Springdale Dynamos Data Center, is planned for the site of the former Cheswick Power Station and is currently in the planning phase.

Brian Rigley, a consultant for the developer Allegheny DC Property Co., explained that the meeting allowed residents to view plans and ask specific questions about site lighting, landscaping, power use, and water use directly to the engineers involved in the project. The company had received a conditional use permit from the borough in December, allowing them to proceed with development.

Resident Matt Lang expressed the community's desire for transparency regarding the data center's potential impacts. He specifically raised concerns about the local power grid, water usage, and noise pollution, hoping the developer would be transparent as the process moves forward.
