Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger has unveiled a new Data Center Accountability Framework, which includes sweeping legislative proposals and an executive order, designed to bring greater oversight and transparency to the state's data center industry. These proposals aim to address various aspects of data center operations and their impact.
Following the governor's announcement, Stack Infrastructure, a data center developer with plans for a substantial investment in Southside Virginia, has publicly supported the transparency initiatives. Vic Ingram, chair of the Danville-Pittsylvania Regional Industrial Facility Authority, confirmed ongoing discussions between local officials and Stack regarding the project.
