Dallas-Based CBRE Partners With Meta on Training Fiber Technicians to Build Meta’s U.S. Data Centers

Dallas-based commercial real estate and critical infrastructure firm CBRE announced a multi-year partnership with Meta Platforms, Inc. to launch the "LevelUp" recruiting and training program. This initiative aims to train thousands of fiber technicians to support the construction and maintenance of Meta's data centers across the United States. CBRE plans to establish and operate multiple training centers nationwide, beginning this summer, to equip workers with skills in technical infrastructure, fiber-optic cables, and network gear installation. Both companies emphasized the program's role in addressing a growing shortage of skilled fiber technicians, which is crucial for building next-generation data center infrastructure and powering the AI revolution. CBRE Chair and CEO Bob Sulentic highlighted the commitment to developing a skilled workforce for Meta's infrastructure needs, while Dina Powell McCormick, Meta’s president and vice chairman, underscored the importance of a highly skilled U.S. workforce for innovation. The program is also designed to provide competitive career opportunities and a clear pathway for recent high school graduates and those seeking new careers in the skilled trades sector.
