Beltline Energy is proposing to build a data center in Luther, Oklahoma, near the Redbud power plant. The Luther City Council is scheduled to meet tonight to discuss the proposed project. The company has submitted proposals for data centers across Oklahoma, utilizing non-disclosure agreements for protection of proprietary information.
Beltline Energy, an Atlanta-based company, has submitted proposals to develop data centers in multiple Oklahoma locations, including Piedmont, Yukon, and Luther. In Luther, the proposed site is located just east of the Redbud power plant.
Journalist Rob Hagan reported that the company is employing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to protect proprietary information related to the data centers, including timing, finances, and development plans. The Luther mayor signed one such NDA on May 29th.
The strategic choice of Luther, an agricultural area, is attributed to its proximity to a power substation, mirroring the situation in Piedmont. OG&E security personnel prevented the reporter from accessing certain property, though video of the power plant was obtained. The Luther City Council is scheduled to hold a meeting tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss the proposed data center.
