Amazon Web Services (AWS) has detailed the construction schedule for its planned $3 billion data center campus in Warren County, Mississippi. According to Andrea Hutchins, AWS economic development representative, mass grading on the site between U.S. 61 and Dana Road is anticipated to commence within the next six weeks. This initial phase will involve significant earthwork to level areas with approximately 72-foot drop-offs and ensure the U.S. 61 entrance is functional, minimizing disruption to Dana Road, particularly near Dana Road Elementary School.

Design work for the project is projected to conclude around April 2027, with the selection of a general contractor in the first quarter of 2027. Construction of the data center buildings is slated to begin in the second or third quarter of that year. AWS plans to collaborate with the Vicksburg-Warren Chamber of Commerce to facilitate opportunities for local contractors and suppliers to engage in the project. The campus is expected to house about four data center buildings and become operational in early 2029.
