The South Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted Ordinance 234 during its June 9 meeting, which amends the township's zoning ordinance to permit data centers and their accessories within the light industrial zoning district. This decision came after a public hearing where resident JV Bennett expressed support for the ordinance, while Mark Houser voiced opposition, highlighting concerns related to minimum lot size, setbacks, noise, and water consumption associated with data centers.

In additional actions, the supervisors approved a $6,338 quote for codifying the township's ordinances. The board also formally accepted the retirement of Police Chief William Reigle II, effective September 1, and appointed Sgt. Jared Zimmerman as acting chief, effective July 3. Other approvals included a resolution regarding the disbursement policy for fire tax revenue and fire truck agreements with local volunteer fire companies.
