NuVu Real Estate's Billion-Dollar Data Center Project Approved in Petersburg, Virginia
Governor Glenn Youngkin announced a billion-dollar data center project by NuVu Real Estate in Petersburg, Virginia. The 75-acre, 300-megawatt facility received its first site plan approval in the city. Unlike other projects, it did not require public zoning approval from the city council.
Governor Glenn Youngkin announced a significant data center project by NuVu Real Estate during his final progress report on the Partnership for Petersburg initiative in January. The project, estimated at $1.1 billion and planned for 75 acres, will feature a three-building, 300-megawatt campus located between I-95 and County Drive in Petersburg.
The Northern Virginia firm, NuVu Real Estate, submitted the project plans to the city in May of the previous year. Following Governor Youngkin's announcement, the project secured its initial site plan approval, marking it as the first data center in Petersburg to achieve this milestone.
Notably, this particular data center development did not require a public hearing or zoning approval from the city council, setting it apart from other data center proposals in Petersburg.
