The Department of Energy (DOE) has announced plans for a significant redevelopment project in Paducah, Kentucky, transforming portions of an existing DOE Eastside facility into a $100 billion high-performance computing (HPC) campus. This ambitious venture is projected to take approximately five years to complete.
This substantial investment is anticipated to create 600 permanent jobs within the data center, in addition to an estimated 8,000 construction jobs during its development phase. A key component of the project will be the construction of a dedicated natural gas power plant on-site, designed to generate power that will exceed the data center's operational needs.
