Tramont Manufacturing LLC, a Milwaukee-based fuel tank manufacturer, is expanding its operations by leasing a new facility on the city's far northwest side, a move directly spurred by the rapid growth of the data center industry. The company plans to occupy space within the former Super Steel building at 7900 W. Tower Ave., creating around 50 new jobs.

According to a building permit application filed with the Milwaukee Department of Neighborhood Services, Tramont will use the site for fabricating steel tanks. The company supplies customers who provide generators to various sectors, including data centers and hospitals.

Tramont's expansion comes on the heels of its recent acquisition by Graycliff Partners, a New York-based investment firm. Tramont Executive Chairman Nand Kumar noted the company's "meaningful and growing presence in the rapidly growing data center market," a sentiment echoed by Graycliff managing partner Andrew Trigg, who stated Tramont is "well-positioned to benefit from continued investment in data center infrastructure and grid resiliency."
