Parsons approves option for micro data center project
Parsons City Commissioners approved a purchase option agreement for Hyper Data Grid to assess a proposed 10-megawatt micro data center project. This allows the company six months for land utility and survey assessments before presenting final specifics for construction. City Manager Jeff Cantrell emphasized securing the best quality development for the community.
The Parsons City Commissioners recently approved a purchase option agreement for a proposed 10-megawatt micro data center project. This decision allows the company, Hyper Data Grid, to proceed with land utility and survey assessments for a 26-acre site located on the north end of town, near the Tank Connection offices. While this approval does not grant immediate construction rights, it provides Hyper Data Grid with a six-month window to finalize operational costs and specific project effects.
City Manager Jeff Cantrell commented on the project, acknowledging data centers as a permanent and future-oriented technology. He stressed the city's commitment to ensuring the development is of the highest quality for the community. After the six-month assessment period, Hyper Data Grid is expected to present its detailed plans to the commissioners for further consideration.
