Lambda announced a proposed $33.1 billion data center campus near U.S. 80 and Alabama 21 in Lowndes County, with construction expected to begin in early 2027 and take up to five years. The Red Clay Technology Center Campus is projected to create more than 1,000 construction jobs and over 225 full-time positions. Cloverleaf Infrastructure has been preparing the site, and Alabama Power would provide electricity pending regulatory approval.

Lambda and Cloverleaf project billions of dollars in state and local tax revenue, including more than $1.6 billion for Lowndes County Public Schools. Lambda co-founder and CTO Stephen Balaban said the company would continue engaging residents and local leaders. The company also pledged to cover the campus's electricity and grid infrastructure costs, use closed-loop cooling to reduce water consumption, support local water conservation through N-Drip and fund a $10 million community benefits agreement.
