Town of Bloomer to hold public hearing about data centers
The Town of Bloomer Town Board will hold a public hearing on a Planning Commission recommendation to impose a moratorium on data center development. Chippewa County has postponed its moratorium vote, while Eau Claire County is also working on a data center moratorium.
The Town of Bloomer Town Board is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Oct. 7 at Bloomer Town Hall regarding a proposed moratorium on data center development. The hearing follows a meeting of the Town of Bloomer Planning Commission, which recommended the development pause.
The proposed Bloomer moratorium comes as other Wisconsin governments consider similar restrictions. Chippewa County postponed a vote on its proposal, while Eau Claire County is developing its own moratorium for data center projects.
