Conneaut City Council recently rejected a proposed one-year moratorium on data center development during a Monday meeting, with a vote of 2-4. The measure, which was on its third reading, had been initially proposed by Councilperson-at-large Mariana Branch in July.

During the meeting, several local residents voiced their support for the moratorium. Julia Barton and Joel Specht were among those who spoke in favor of the development pause. Robert Campbell, a resident living near the Conneaut East Industrial Park, expressed concerns about potential data center construction in the area.
