Fayette County commissioners tackle IT outages, approve Jeffersonville annexations

Fayette County commissioners met to discuss a range of county business, including responding to IT outages. IT Specialist Mike Meadows reported a generator failure at the Fayette County Board of Elections office during a power outage, and the county administration building lost internet due to a damaged underground Spectrum cable.
In land-use matters, the commissioners approved an expedited annexation of two parcels, totaling over 60 acres, from Jefferson Township into the Village of Jeffersonville. They also heard a proposal from Ugo Nwoke, representing SRG Petroleum LLC, regarding the redevelopment of the Midway Mini Mart, which involved purchasing county-owned land for a new driveway.
Other approvals included dog license fees and an agreement with GloFiber for a phone system upgrade at the Board of Elections. The county engineer announced an open house for a proposed roundabout project.
