DTE Energy has put forth a proposal for a 7.6% electricity rate increase, amounting to an additional $9.39 monthly for average residential bills starting in early 2027. However, the utility committed to a two-year freeze on further rate increases if the anticipated revenue from new Oracle and Google data centers, currently under construction within its service territory, materializes. The Michigan Public Service Commission is slated to deliver a ruling on DTE's $474.3 million proposal within the next ten months.
