PJM Proposes States and Utilities Hold Data Centers Accountable for Power Supply

PJM Interconnection, the wholesale electric power grid operator for Ohio and parts of 12 other states and the District of Columbia, is advocating for a significant policy shift regarding data center power consumption. The organization proposes that state governments and electric utilities should mandate data center developers to secure their own firm power supplies.
This plan is put forth as data centers continue to be a major driver of change and strain on the energy industry.
