$430M data center planned for this North Texas tech hub, as Abbott halts permits
Colovore is planning a $430 million data center at 14700 Heritage Parkway in Fort Worth’s AllianceTexas development, according to state regulatory filings. The project is being planned as Gov. Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to pause data center permits until an audit of Texas’ electric grid is completed.
Colovore is planning a $430 million data center at 14700 Heritage Parkway in Fort Worth’s AllianceTexas development, on the Denton County side of Interstate 35W. State paperwork describes a 156,500-square-foot administrative area, four data halls and a screened-in equipment yard totaling 42,000 square feet. AIL Investment LP owns the land, and Colovore is pre-leasing space at the site.
The project comes as Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to stop issuing data center permits while the state completes an audit of the electric grid. Fort Worth said Colovore was not being considered for city economic incentives, and the company did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
