A group of protestors convened outside the Wenatchee Convention Center on Tuesday during the NCW Tech Alliance's 2026 "AI Expo." The demonstration targeted artificial intelligence, data centers, and the tech companies sponsoring the event, including Microsoft and Sabey Corporation.

Denali White, an activist representing Wenatchee for Palestine and No Data Centers NCW, organized the protest. White articulated the community's concerns with these companies and the expansion of data centers in the region.

Specifically, the protest highlighted Sabey Corporation's recent application for a permit to install 15 additional diesel generators. The Washington State Department of Ecology is slated to hold a public hearing regarding this permit on August 18th, drawing further attention to the environmental implications of data center development.
