Mayor Chris Watts expressed that the concern isn't about current impacts but rather the anticipated and unpredictable future effects on resources, neighborhoods, and the environment. Earlier in the week, the Denton City Council instructed city officials to develop recommendations for stricter regulations concerning data center developments.
