This accusation stems from the developer's rejection of the council's demands for various safeguards, which included noise limits, buffer zones, and water and wastewater restrictions. Following this, the developer challenged the township's zoning ordinance.
The proposed two-million-square-foot data center facility is slated for construction on the site of the recently closed Cleveland Cliffs steel mill on Conshohocken Road. Local opposition to the project is significant, evidenced by a petition against the data center that has garnered more than 3,600 signatures.
A public hearing on the data center development is scheduled for August 6. The developer's attorney has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the council's accusations.
