Independence council OKs power plan for data center as residents raise noise concerns

There's been progress on the construction of a more than 2 million-square-foot data center in eastern Independence. Tuesday night, the Independence City Council approved a plan for Nebius, the European company investing in the center, to buy electricity to operate phase one of the center, expected to open in the fall.
