Public cries out against data center projects

Hundreds of residents in Guadalupe County, Texas, gathered at the Geronimo Community Center to express significant opposition to two proposed data center projects. Community members displayed signs against the developments and many spoke at a Crystal Clear Special Utility District (SUD) board meeting on Thursday.
The discussions primarily revolved around the Palomino Alpha and CloudBurst data center projects, with residents sharing their opinions on the proposals. A key point of contention at the Crystal Clear SUD board meeting was an application for water utilities for these developments.
Adding to the controversy, Bobby Levinski and Abigail Lindsey hosted a press conference to discuss a lawsuit filed against Guadalupe County and the Guadalupe County Commissioners. The lawsuit specifically targets the county regarding the two proposed data centers. Lindsey articulated her reasons for joining the legal action and opposing the data centers during the press conference, while also reading emails between Crystal Clear board members and Palomino Alpha during the public comment portion of the SUD meeting.
