The St. Clair County Advisory Board of Health has scheduled a public workshop for September 15th to address the potential health and environmental impacts associated with data center development. The event, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Port Huron, Michigan, at the County Administrative Office Building, aims to educate residents and local leaders while providing a platform for public comments.
According to an announcement, this workshop is the first of two planned public discussions, with a second session anticipated in October. Remington Nevin, Medical Director for the St. Clair County Health Department, highlighted the necessity for "careful, evidence-based public discussion" regarding questions raised by data center development, building on the department's previous work on industrial solar and battery energy storage. The meeting will be livestreamed on the SCCountyIT YouTube channel, and both in-person and written comments will be accepted.
