Cave City Residents Protest Proposed Data Center

Over 50 residents from Cave City and Barren County, Kentucky, alongside other concerned citizens, participated in a protest march along Kentucky Hwy 90 W on Saturday, July 18, 2026. The demonstration was aimed at voicing opposition to a proposed data center planned for a plot of land off Doyle Avenue in Cave City.

This local protest coincided with over a hundred nationwide demonstrations held for the AI Data Center National Day of Protest. Residents like Angie Herald, whose family property borders the proposed site, guided the protestors, while Karen Pennington of Horse Cave also joined the march. Kathy Minor, living approximately 150 feet from the site, expressed her concerns.

Protestors also signed a petition against the development. Bob Snee, a resident living off Barren River Lake, reminded attendees of an upcoming town hall meeting with Barren County officials scheduled for July 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Austin-Tracy Elementary School gym, where residents can further express their views on the proposed data center.
