La Crosse County Administrator Jane Klekamp confirmed the recent passing of an 18-month data center moratorium during an appearance on the WIZM Rick Solem Show. The county has also established a new data center study committee to further examine the issue.
Klekamp discussed this development alongside other local topics, including efforts to address Wisconsin's declining population, such as a program in Fond du Lac to incentivize people to move to the area. She also touched upon the county's pursuit of state approval for its intergenerational daycare plan and ongoing initiatives to combat homelessness, including the 'Homes for 100' plan and La Crosse's 'Pathways Home' plan.
