Valor Energy acquires Youngstown computing facility for possible data center project
Valor Energy has agreed to acquire an 18-megawatt computing facility on Logan Avenue in Youngstown for $3.6 million. The company plans to convert the existing site into an AI data center, but the project remains subject to due diligence, permitting, funding and other conditions before closing and construction can proceed.
Valor Energy, an automobile transaction company pursuing a shift into digital infrastructure, has agreed to purchase a 30,888-square-foot computing facility at 1911 Logan Avenue in Youngstown for $3.6 million. The company intends to redevelop the site as an AI data center.
Strategic adviser Dave Nichols said the facility has 18 megavolt-amperes of power capacity that Valor believes is already approved and energized, potentially reducing the time required to develop new AI computing capacity. The schedule remains uncertain because of equipment, permitting and funding requirements, and the transaction is subject to a monthlong due diligence period, regulatory and third-party consents, and closing within 90 business days of the agreement.
