Tompkins County Poet Laureate nicole v basta’s “Home Water” tour will stop at the Ulysses Philomatic Library in Trumansburg on Oct. 27. The workshops use writing prompts to examine water, local environmental history, artificial intelligence and the effects data centers can have on water resources and surrounding communities.
Basta said she has attended meetings of No Data Center FLX, a group opposing a proposed data center in Lansing. She described the issue as attracting cross-generational and bipartisan environmental concern. A poetry anthology connected to the project is expected to direct proceeds to No Data Center FLX and a Tompkins County environmental education program.
