A proposed data center in Inkster will not move forward after a standing-room-only crowd of residents packed city hall to oppose the project — and the city council declined to act on it.
The developer, Robert Kato of Klever Technology Center LLC, had applied for a special land use permit to convert a vacant 40,000-square-foot warehouse on Southern Street off Michigan Avenue into a data center. After hours of public comments from residents, no council member made a motion to approve the request.
