More than 100 Lincoln County residents gathered at a commissioners' meeting to advocate for a temporary moratorium on new rural data center applications.
Despite the significant public turnout and appeals from citizens, the five-member County Board voted 3-2 against enacting the moratorium.
This marks the third time the proposed moratorium has been defeated, following two previous votes in June. Gary Person, president and CEO of the North Platte Area Chamber & Development Corp., was among those present at the meeting.
